For hiking enthusiasts: get out of the Wieslhof, into your hiking boots and off you go! numerous hiking trails start around the house, which lead you through untouched idyllic landscapes, shady forests and to magnificent viewpoints in the heart of the Dolomites.

The Wieslhof is situated on a high plateau at 1220 m above sea level and is therefore the ideal starting point for your hike, the Steinegger Höhenwanderweg, the planetary hike, the hike to the observatory and brand new to the planetarium, the path of the stars, to the Schillerhof, these are all popular hiking destinations! If you prefer alpine hiking, the hiking area around or in the Rosengarten is only 15 minutes away by car. The Hirzelweg, a panoramic trail at the foot of the Rosengarten, is also easy for children to manage. Brand new this year: the free hiking bus, which takes you directly from the hotel to the valley station of the cable car to Nova Levante/Welschnofen, so you can do without your car. The Pyramid Trail right next to our hotel is another highlight of our legendary landscape. Created over millions of years, huge stones are perched on sand cones and the power of nature is constantly changing this unique gorge. A great adventure playground for children with bridges over gorges, platforms that tower high above the Katzenbach gorge and fossils as remnants of the primeval sea "Tetris", from which our Dolomites were formed.

There was once a beautiful and productive meadow here, which was farmed by the Dosserbauer for generations to support the respective pastor. When one of these farmers refused to pay the rent due after repeated requests, the Steinegg court was asked to rule on the matter. As no documentary evidence could be produced and the Dosser farmer, although he was in the know, confirmed his claims by swearing an oath, the meadow was attributed to him. The priest was depressed, the dosser farmer was proud. But on the very same day, dark clouds gathered and turned day into night. Everyone suspected that something sinister was about to happen. A downpour poured down, lightning flashed and thunder rolled like Steinegg had never experienced before. It was only towards morning that the storm seemed to gradually subside and when the Dosserbauer wanted to mow the lush grass of his meadow, he could not believe his eyes. A deep abyss yawned before him, from which only a few peaks and cones of rubble rose. God had pronounced his judgment, but in a different way than people expected.
